Vredestein has been making tires in the Netherlands since 1909. The company makes bicycle, car and agricultural tires. In 1946 the American B.F.Goodrich company acquired 20% of the firm and in 1971 B.F. Goodrich became the company's sole owner. Over the next several decades a complex series of transactions saw the company change hands several times until 2009 when Vredestein was bought by India's Apollo Tyres. Apollo remains the owner of Vredestein.
