Vintage Components -TDC freewheels
TDC freewheels on this page: 5-speed 14-28 freewheel, missing parts

TDC components were made by Thomas D. Cross & Sons of Birmingham, England. The firm was started in 1870 for the purpose of making bicycle components under the direction of the Cross family, which was already manufacturing gun parts.

The company started making chains and sprockets and expanding into industrial and agricultural machine chains. By 1914 the firm was making motorcycles with their own 4-stroke engine.

By the 1950s the company was making bottom bracket and headset parts as well as chains and freewheels. We know they produced freewheels into the 1970s, but we don't know what happened to the firm after that.
