There was a Rudy at Rudy Project. Rudy Barbazza started the famous sunglass and helmet maker in Treviso, Italy in 1985. A second generation of the family now runs the firm, Cristiano and Simone Barbazza.

The sunglasses gained instant fame when they were introduced. Being used by such star riders as Bernard Hinault, Miguel Indurain, Jan Ullrich, Erik Zabel and Claudio Chiappucci added to world-wide demand for the highly regarded eyewear. Rudy Project products are now sold in more than sixty countries.
