Molteni is one of the iconic teams in cycling history. It has a long history, having been started by the owners of the Milan sausage maker Molteni in 1958. Though the team was quite successful with such riders as Gianni Motta and Michele Dancelli in its earlier years, it is Eddy Merckx, the winningest rider in cycling history, who really gave the team its fame. Merckx rode for Molteni from 1971-1976. 1976 was the team's last year.
Here's Eddy Merckx racing with Roger de Vlaeminck in the 1973 Omloop Het Volk (now called the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad). Merckx won, with de Vlaeminck finishing second, 2 seconds behind. Merckx is wearing the classic Molteni jersey, but with an important alteration. As a former world champion (1967, 1971 at that point) he was allowed to wear rainbow bands on his collar and cuffs.

Amore & Vita size 4 (large) 1990-1992 team jersey. Used, $75.00
This was made for and imported by Torelli Imports and has a "Torelli" label in the collar.
The squad had its origins in 1948 as an amateur team started by Ivano Fanini. The team transformed to a pro squad, "Amore & Vita", and was first registered as a continental pro team in 1989. As of this posting in late 2020, the team looks to continue racing as Amore & Vita-Prodir.
In 1989, during an audience at the Vatican with Pope John Paul II, Fanini had his riders appearing in jerseys with the slogan "No to Abortion". Subsequently, the team was renamed Amore e Vita, "Love and Life".
The team says it is the oldest professional cycling team in the world.
