South Salem Cycleworks Museum:
Wheels built with classic Campagnolo Record high-flange hubs & Mavic Mod E2 rims
Here's a look at what wheels looked like in the late 1970s and early 1980s as high-performance riders embraced high-performance clincher wheels.
We built these wheels for a customer from our inventory of vintage parts.
- The hubs: 36-hole Campagnolo Nuovo Record high-flange hubs with flat quick-release skewers
- Rims: Mavic Mod E2
- Spokes: A nod to the modern with DT Revolution 15/17/15 spoke and alloy nipples
- The rest: Vittoria Open Corse tires & Rox Super DutE rimstrips.

Hard to believe it's been forty years since this was cutting edge stuff.
