March 15, 2014 - All Alone And Feeling Blue OR The Show Must Go On

No one showed up today, Stuart's still in CA, Brad's busy signing papers for the purchase of a rental, and Tom is still sick from Mexico. Too cold, early, maybe, for Sabrina and Wendy. A woman who recently purchased a bike from us, may start riding in the near future.

So, I took my fixed gear and rode the Gibson, Eagle Crest, Orchard Hts. And down Oak Grove in my 42/17t gear, but changed it to my 20t using the dinglecog for climbing up 50th. Almost fell in the first switchback, and did a lot of traveling in a zig-zag fashion in the correct travel lane, well, most of the time!

And while approaching the bridge again, I almost fell over at the Wallace Rd. intersection while leaning to push the crossing switch while clipped in on one side. I cramped up recovering my lack of equilibrium, and again almost fell over!

It was with some relief that I crossed into the shop's parking lot, but did an awkward, hop-skip dismount, that fortunately no one inside witnessed and ribbed me about the rest of the day.

Still, the ride only took me 2 hours and 15 minutes, but whoa, was I tired!
