Vintage Components - Bicycle Chains

On this page: Everest Oro 3/32" chain | San Chu 1/8" x 1/2" chain

Everest Oro 3/32" bicycle chain. $100.00

Part# CH-01

The Italian "Everest" trademark was shared by two companies. The chains, such as the one for sale here, were made by Vittorio Fossati SRL, in Sovico, a part of Milan. The Everest freewheels, some of which were quite exotic and lightweight, were made by Guglielmo Caimi, also of Milan.

Fossati began production in the 1920s and for a while in the 1970s, Everest chains showed up regularly in the U.S. on Italian pro bikes. They made a fine alternative to the ubiquitous Regina chains. As of late, the firm seems to have abandoned bicycle component production to concentrate on making industrial chains.
