Since the chain is stamped West Germany, we know this chain was produced before November 1989, when the Iron Curtain fell and West & East Germany were reunited.
Though the chain is new, we still photographed it with our chain wear indicator so that you can see it is truly ready for the road.

Hans Renold founded Hans Renold Social Union, which became the manufacturer of Union chains.
Terrot introduced their new Lavigne chain in 1895 and used it until 1908.
